About ACM Global

The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is the world's largest scientific and educational computing society, founded in 1947. With over 100,000 members across 190 countries, ACM connects researchers, educators, and practitioners who are advancing computing as a science and profession.

ACM produces the world-renowned ACM Digital Library — the most comprehensive database of computing research in existence — and publishes flagship journals including Communications of the ACM. It also sponsors the Turing Award, widely regarded as the "Nobel Prize of Computing."

ACM Houston is one of ACM's professional chapters — locally organized, globally connected.

Note: ACM global membership is separate from membership in the ACM Houston Professional Chapter. You do not need a global ACM membership to join our local chapter or attend our events.
